CNS Honored For Best All-Around Student Newscast at EIJ14

NASHVILLE, Tn. – The Philip Merrill College of Journalism and its Capital News Service  were honored for  Best All-Around Student Newscast tonight during the Excellence in Journalism Conference.

Dean Lucy Dalglish, CNS Broadcast Bureau Director Sue Kopen Katcef and Adjunct Professor Cindy Wright were joined by a number of Merrill students and alumni in accepting the award at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. SPJ originally announced the awards last May.

Also honored Julia Weaver ’13 – who won for Television Feature Reporting and Louie Dane ’13 – who won for Television News and Feature Photography. Both were from Bethany Swain’s first ViewFinder team.
